The season 8 premiere of Big Bang Theory was this past Monday.
I am very much looking forward to some of the changes that are coming with this season, however judging from the first two episodes of the season I will be interested to see how the rest of the season actually plays out.
Things that are new in season 8:
Sheldon is now a professor, rather than a researcher
Sheldon has "said" he wants to engage in coitus with Amy (!!!!!!)
Penny has a new haircut
Penny has a new job yay!
Raj finally has a lady friend
The comic book store has burned down and Stuart is now living with Howard's mother
Things that are still the same:
Sheldon still makes you want to punch him in the face.
Howard creepily confuses Bernadette and his mother. and also makes you want to punch him in the face.
Sheldon is still annoying and hates change (i.e Penny's new haircut)
Awkward Amy/Bernadette tension
Amy putting up with Sheldons b***s***
This season still seems to be very much Sheldon-centric, which to be honest got old about 3 seasons ago. In the words of Seth Meyers, Jim Parsons IS worth every penny of the MILLION dollars an episode he is making, but honestly, there is not much more depth to Sheldon's character than what we have seen so far. That is unless the writers decide to make some drastic changes..like maybe giving him and Amy a sexual(?!?) relationship.
I would also love to see way more of Stuart. His current lines are pure gold and I think the show definitely needs more Stuart...and not in the context of sexual innuendo between him and Howard's mom.
